What you most here about is how many artists and painters that live here and they make it pretty obvious. It seems like people dress like Inspector Closeau would have if it was to be disguised as a painter. Big beards, smoking pipes, striped stained shirts and a wild look never went out of fashion here. Even though the art scene may be a bit backwards, the food definitely is not. There are many excellent places that serve food both innovative and good as well as well cooked classic Brazilian food. On Saturdays and Sundays they serve the traditional dish feijoada, a kind of a black bean stew with a little bit of everything, the one you get here is always good. The snack food is also delicious.

All of these restaurants are located in Santa Teresa, but some are not easy to reach so a taxi would be the best option. Bom Apetite!
